OR!! I could get ten 45s!!! Guess which one little Rebecca chose?
That's right, on the promised afternoon, I made my first trip to the record store and spent what was probably hours of sweet agony going through the racks of those 45 singles to pick out the very best ten songs (plus B-Sides!) that I could find. I walked away with the grooviest disco hits that a 10-year-old nerd child could buy including We Are Family, Celebration, Shake Your Groove Thing, and I Will Survive. Remember it was 1979.
I kind of feel sorry for the poor kids today who just get an iPhone and an iTunes card. Well, just our luck, tomorrow is Record Store Day, which is kind of like the The Metronome Society's high holy day. So go check out a record store, spend some time browsing the shelves, and find your own treasures to take home. Maybe they will be almost as sweet as this:
